District Conference 2009
Our District Conference 2009 will be held on February 26-28 at the Plano Chinese Alliance Church. Information packets will be mailed in early December. This year we will have an online registration option for those interested or you can register via mail. Watch this website for more information as well.
We met several of the new District Superintendents including Angel Garcia, the new DS for the Spanish Central District. We spent quite a bit of time with Dr. Gary Benedict, John Soper, vice-President for Church Ministries and our own Dan Wetzel (he and Iris send greetings).
Reatha led a special forum for the DS's on Missions Mobilization with recommendations to the DLF. John Soper and I led a DS's forum on Multicultural Ministries and what the Alliance will look like in 20 years. Bob Collins was one of the participants of this group.
Being with all these great people made me more committed to living the call together with you and the larger C&MA.
SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE:
Last week was the yearly District Superintendent's gathering at Colorado Springs. It was quite a week hearing about what God is doing around the United States and the world through C&MA ministries. The District Superintendent's Leadership Forum tackled a tough agenda that includes issues that will need to be addressed at General Council and by local taskforces within the district.
